Thanks for staying with us!

We would like to send a big "Thank You" to all of our special guests that stayed with us here at Bark ATL over the December holidays. It was good group of dogs and we can't be more grateful to have such wonderful clients. All the dogs hold a very special place in my heart, but one older dog in particular will always make me smile. His name is William, a yellow lab, and he is just the sweetest dog I have had the pleasure to take care of. He is so happy-go-lucky and just wants his ball or "sock-ball" and a warm, cozy place to lie down. I know with the recent success of "Marley & Me" we will see a big increase of yellow labs, but they are just a wonderful breed and a great family dog if you take the time early on to teach them how to be a good dog!

To all the dogs that spent their holidays with us, thank you for being your wonderful, beautiful spirits that you are. You truly do touch our hearts. It's not uncommon for an employee to call late at night just to ask how a particular dog is doing. We do take our work home with us, but it's always a good thing.

Have a safe and wonderful New Year!
-Brandi

*Thanks William for being an extra blanket, a source of calm energy and for playing sock-ball all the time! You are my special little guy!*

Happy Holidays All!

The dogs are just finishing up their Christmas Eve breakfast! We're really having such a blast with all of the dogs this week. The best thing about holiday boarders is that we get to see a lot of faces we don't normally see for daycare, as well as a lot of brand new faces. I was so happy to see dogs like Lila & Frodo, Dakota, the Wirkas, Coconut, Genevieve, Coco J, and William, who we don't get to see too often. William is so adorable. He waddles around our lounge with this little pink sock that he LOVES. Lila & Frodo are total sweethearts, too. I've been having fun opening presents with Coconut every once in awhile. We have so many awesome new dogs, too! Dakota, the rottweiler puppy, is sooooo sweet and just loves attention. We have a lot of fun with Jessie (KC Spaniel) too. I hope all of you are enjoying time with your friends and families. We're definitely enjoying our time with your canine family members!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!

Our Clients / Their Humans

I'll start by saying that I certainly hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. It's one of the best times here at Bark ATL. We get the opportunity to spend lots of time with our pack as they board or come in while their humans go shopping or running other errands.

This is what I was thinking about the other day as I was cleaning the rooms and running the dogs outside to their owners: work can be stressful, the season can stressful, and even our dogs can make our hair stand on end; but, despite the hurly-burly lifestyles we sometimes lead, our clientele is never grumpy or rude and always has a smile on their face. Many of you who have the time will spend a moment outside with us to chat about your dog, other dogs, or whatever random comment I make about the crazy weather (I didn't say it was always stimulating conversation); still, it's been great getting to know you all.

Long story short, I just wanted to extend a thank you to all of our clients and the cheer you bring! It's been nice getting to know you and your pet(s). We look forward to seeing all of you for a long time to come. So, whenever you see we staff-members poking our head up from the back window, smiling, and waving, no matter how funny we look, we are genuinely glad you chose Bark ATL.

Wednesday is so much FUN!!!

Hey there people! My name is Miss Ginger Belle and I'm a poodle. I have the best Mommy in the world because she takes me to Bark ATL, which she calls "the Rolls Royce of doggy daycare". I get pampered and loved all day long, which is great because if you know anything about poodles is that we LOVE attention. That's all I get at Bark ATL, lots and lots of love!

Today was great because they had so many dogs here to play with me and we had our Christmas pictures taken (they put a pretty holiday collar on me & I felt very sassy)! Wednesdays are the busiest day of the week so I love coming then and today was so festive & FUN! There is lots of action going on and I need to always be in the know about it! Most of all, I love the people at Bark ATL because they're so sweet and nice and let me do whatever I want (within reason, of course, a lady always keeps her tact!).

Won't you come play with me next Wednesday? I would love another poodle friend to hang out with!

Thanks,
Miss Ginger Belle

Yucky day outside!

Although it was super wet and gross outside, the dogs had a great day playing inside on our skid-free rubber floors! It was Riley's birthday today (HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEY!) and he definitely knew it was HIS day. Riley and his friends enjoyed lots of cupcakes, ice cream, and bubbles at his birthday party! We took tons of cute photos and we'll be posting them on our website ASAP. Life at Bark ATL is getting pretty hectic as we're gearing up for the holidays. We're expecting a ton of boarders and are quickly filling up for Christmas and New Years. So, if you haven't reserved a spot, give us a call before we're full!
Happy Holidays and we hope you all are staying warm and dry this week!Emily

BARK ATL Staffs the Reindog Parade!

Hi Everyone! We were the official "pooper scoopers" for the Reindog Parade today at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. About 100 dogs came out to strut their stuff and be part of the fun. While each dog had own secret longings to "lead Santa's sleigh", the little dog to the right, won "Best in Show" with a handmade, very cute Christmas tree costume! It was a chilly day, but everyone who came out enjoyed pictures with Santa, an agility demonstration, and of course, the highlight of it all, the Reindog Parade! Go to www.BarkATL.com to check out more dogs in full costume. Although it was the first time dogs have ever been allowed in the gardens, everyone seemed encouraged by the turn out & there were already talks of this becoming an Atlanta holiday tradition. So if you missed it, maybe you can come join us next year! By the way, our own BARK ATL dogs - Berkley & Nala - were representing at the parade. Nala even won a ribbon for her botanical-themed costume! Thanks to Jonathan, Emily & Brandi for coming out to staff the parade!
Happy Holidays to Everyone! -Angela

My day of FUN!!!

Hello humans! My name is Jake, a yellow lab, but my friends call me Big Jake. The people who work at Bark ATL let me come write about my day on the computer (actually, I'm telling them what to write!). I LOVE Bark ATL. I come about twice a week when I need to get out and be with my friends.
My best friends, of course, are the humans, but I have a few close doggy friends, too. King, the standard Poodle with the mohawk, is one of my BFFs. We walk all around and sniff everything together. I love to walk in between the human's legs. I think that is the greatest game of all. I get real happy when the motion bell rings in the evening because I know my Mommy will be here soon to pick me up! Most of all, I have a great time and I'm SOOOOOO tired when I go home. I love everyone at Bark ATL and it's so good to know that they love me, too!!!

A great day in the big dog room!

We had such a great group of dogs in the big dog room today! Even though there were over 20 dogs, it was a carefree afternoon at Bark ATL. Our boarders are all pretty tired from the past few days of fun, so they spent a lot of the day relaxing. I have to say one of the best things about working at Bark ATL is that every time you sit down, you instantly get a lap-full of puppy love! Bogie, Wally, Trooper, Maggie & Millie were all being total teddy bears today. Haha. Molly, Jake, Peanut, and Bugs were all playing hard this afternoon. Riley was curled up sleeping in the corner, as usual, but of course had to come over for the occasional cuddles. Pippin, Toby, Mikey, Scout, Berkley, Sadie Roo, and Piglet all made themselves at home and spent a good bit of the afternoon laid out on our comfy Kuranda beds. All the dogs are having a great time during their holiday stay. I think they're really enjoying the Christmas music, too. :)

Happy (almost) Holidays!

Happy Dogs on Turkey Day!

Hi Everyone and Happy Turkey Day!

We have a full house this Thanksgiving, and today is Turkey Day! We are hosting 24 big dogs and 8 little dogs this weekend, and we are having so much fun! The webcams are on for special holiday hours, so you can still see the dogs playing all weekend!

Here are some Thanksgiving "wagging tales" for you:
Piglet and Sadie Roo are being very sweet, and they love everyone!
Bugs is dog tired and enjoying lounging on a hammock, while we've got the Christmas music softly serenading him to sweet sleep.
Ozzy and Jake are all fired up, and they are having a blast!
Maggie and Millie are sleeping close, keeping each other company just as sisters do.
Coco has made many new friends, and she loves chasing and playing with them.
Max and Nicole are in love, and Lola is a lap girl.
Cooper (Monkey) never stops moving (except when he finally passes out!).
Bogie is being very affectionate and loving toward everyone, giving everybody kisses.
Pippin is SO tired, he can't keep his eyes open!
Riley Riddle is being a good boy - he loves the ladies...
Sam Chen just wants to be loved and petted, and Nessie is playing and having fun!

All the dogs are being wonderfully sweet, and we are having a good time with this bunch. We will be sure to give everyone an extra Thanksgiving treat at dinner time!

Warm wishes for a happy, safe, fun Thanksgiving Day!

Thanksgiving week at Bark ATL!

Hi Everyone!

What a busy week we're having here at Bark ATL! As everyone knows, doggy daycare's and kennels get REALLY busy during the holidays, but that doesn't mean that we can't put our personal touch on these festive days.

The dogs are having a great time and I have a sneaking suspicion that they KNOW some big fabulous feast is happening on Thursday without them, but that's okay. Everyone knows the classic movie "A Christmas Story" where the Bumpus's dogs come clamoring in the kitchen and attack the turkey, so we're here to help prevent that from happening a ruining someone's family dinner. (ahem, we know Crazy Bailey would try that!) Also, a lot of families have their older relatives come to town so sometimes it's good for the dogs to take a "vacation", too! We're making them as happy as possible with cushy, warm beds to lounge on, festive holiday music and a lot of extra staff members to interact with.

Hope everyone has a happy Turkey Day!
